Meze Located near the Thau lagoon, just 40 km from the campsite Les Mimosas, the Museum of Dinosaurs welcomes you for a fabulous journey into the world of giant lizards that reigned supreme on the Earth there are more than 200 million years. Their size and extinction, which is still a great mystery, largely explain the fascination they evoke.
Take a deep breath before crossing the doors of the Dinosaur Museum and the prehistory of Meze, because you will be about to enter the largest space in Europe dedicated to these diapsid vertebrates. It is in a large wooded area that awaits the visit greatness exceptional nature. You will find yourself face to face with several species at actual size as the dreaded Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops and Brachiosaurus. The reconstituted cenes are surprisingly realistic. You will also come across the legendary Lucia and australopithecines that will enable you to learn more about the origin of man and his evolution.
You learn that here on the plain of Meze, old dinosaur eggs from 65 million years ago were found in 1996. This amazing discovery proves that the Hérault was once inhabited by dinosaurs. On this site, was also discovered in 1988, the smallest carnivorous dinosaur egg in the world, measuring only 7 cm long.
The Dinosaur Museum is between Mèze and Montagnac in Hérault, about 35 km from Montpellier and Béziers. From the campsite Mimosas, take direction Cap d'Agde and continue on the D51 to Marseillan and Mèze, and take the D613 towards Montagnac.
It is open daily from 14:00 to 18:00 from February to October except in high season, from 10:30 until 19:30 during July and August from 14.00 to 17.00 in November and December. The park is exceptionally closed the 24th, 25th and 31st.
General entrance of the museum-park: 12,50 € for adults and children over 11 years / € 10.50 for children 5 to 11 years / 7,50 € for 3-4 year / Free for under 4 years.
