The wild landscapes of the Gorges d'Héric

It is by taking the D909 departmental road that you will reach the Gorges d'Héric. This wonderful site is 60 km from Les Mimosas campsite.

This is a place full of magnificent wild landscapes that are worth a visit! Dug in the Caroux massif, these spectacular gorges are very popular with hikers and climbing enthusiasts. It must be said that the cliffs overlooking the river sometimes rise to 600 meters high. At the bottom of the gorges, the river turns into waterfalls. Along the hiking trails that run through these gorges, you will discover landscapes of great beauty such as the Farrière cirque or the Cerisier chasm.

The Héric gorges, an integral part of the Haut-Languedoc regional natural park, offers its visitors an exceptional walk. Wild nature surrounds you, take the opportunity to relax while breathing in the fresh air. Between the high rocks, you will find a well-marked path which follows a bubbling torrent leading to a natural swimming pool. Don't hesitate to take a swim in the crystal clear water. In addition, the gorges of Heric have several water points where you can cool off.
