Aquarium of Cap d'Agde

At about 20 minutes from the campsite Les Mimosas, near the port and pond of Luno, the Aquarium of the Cap d'Agde is an interesting idea to visit to mark your program of activities during a stay in the Hérault family. Focus on this vast space of 32 saltwater pools.

A fabulous encounter with the underwater world

Arranged between the port and the beach of the Conch, the marine aquarium of Cap d'Agde offers a fabulous journey in the seabed of the Mediterranean and tropical seas. To ensure total immersion, 250,000 liters of seawater regularly feed the 32 basins. These basins are home to beautiful species that delight young and old: sharks, moray eels, octopus, turtles, groupers, jelly fish, butterfly fish, corals, crabs ... Brighten your visit and learn about the species you will see, you possibility to download the audioguide on the aquarium site. This educational tool is very useful to educate children about the fragility of the seabed, and to enrich their knowledge in a fun environment. Once downloaded the file, simply go to the aquarium with your MP3 player and listen to comments basin by basin.

Activities for school groups and families

The educational work in the aquarium of Cap d'Agde is provided by Galatea association. It offers activities for school groups throughout the year, and for families in high season. Led by trained facilitators, children equipped with a bucket and a scoop begin their activity at 9:30. On the beach of the Conch, they try to catch species that are subsequently released. This experience allows them to better know and respect their habitat, to study their behavior. At the end of their adventure, a degree is awarded to them. They can then access the aquarium (9 € per child, entertainment + tour, free entertainment for the accompanying adult). The aquarium also organizes workshops for handling toddlers.

Times and prices of the Cap d'Agde Aquarium

The marine aquarium of Cap d'Agde is open throughout the year. The opening hours vary according to the season: 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. April to May, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. June, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. July-August, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in September, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. from October to December. It is closed on certain specific days, especially during the Christmas and early January.

The price of general admission is € 7.80 for over 13 years and € 5.70 for children 5 to 12 years (free for children less than 5 years). Reduced rates are available for groups of over 20 people (6.80 €) and 40 individuals (5.80 €). Free parking is available to visitors and the aquarium is arranged to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility.
